A family friend invited us to her birthday party.  She went on us personally for the invitation, so, we said yes. That night only my family were there and a friend of mine.

But suddenly, the topic of the conversation was change,  her son. The topics were about his personality, about his principles in life, and about his choices. Out of the blue, she said “Sa tuwing nakikita ko si archel, nanghihinayang ako. Lagi kong sinasabi sa anak ko na ‘wag ng lalayo pa. Isa pa rin namang mahiyain. Ako na nga ang nag-pupush na i-text si ineng.” This is a situation that I really don’t know how to react. Then she added, “well, iyon yung choice niya, tanggapin ko na lang.”

Actually that time, I think I was on my early college years. We get to text, but because he is a year or two older than me and because he is my friend’s cousin which my friend calls him “kuya”, I called him “kuya” too and my replies were with “po and opo.” These were the reason that his father told me why he was so shy before because of that “po and opo” thing.

I really don’t know what to say. I just smiled.

Well, I’m happy for him. He’s married. :)
